The Essence of Sin
The essence of sin is idolatry, which is the act or condition in which one worships the created rather than the Creator. Everyone is involved in the activity of worship. Atheists worship created things, though many would deny doing so. Many who call themselves "atheists" worship their own intellect, if nothing else. What are you tempted to worship, rather than or in addition to, the Creator?
