This Summer….
I was privileged to have two of my 4 granddaughters here in AZ for a week. Hailey and Chloe live in St. Louis, (actually, St. Charles) MO, and as many of you know, they came here to ride BACK to MO on a road trip with their grandparents. That is another story. Starbucks is a tradition we have when they are with me (no comments needed), and this particular morning I was wanting to engage them in something creative. There is a very popular children’s book, entitled, “No David.” I asked them to make a list of what they would put down for a book to their younger brother, Tristan. Here is the list:
1. No Tristan, you can’t be mean to your friends
2. No Tristan, don’t bring your Super Heroes in the house
3. No Tristan, you can’t run naked outside
4. No Tristan, you can’t pee on our neighbor’s driveway
5. No Tristan, stop hitting your sisters
6. No Tristan, stop breaking into your sister’s rooms
7. No Tristan, it’s not your turn
8. No Tristan, you’re not supposed to talk back
9. No Tristan, you can’t take your clothes off when we have guests over
10. No Tristan, don’t throw Dad’s phone at your sister’s head

This was pretty entertaining over our favorite SBUX drinks (when they are with Papa…they get to order whatever they want, in whatever size they want)! BTW...they are 8 & 9 yrs old...Tristan is 4.
