Take Great Moon Photos

Quick Tips
  •       Use the longest lens you have,  If you have a 200-300 zoom (or longer), that is great.
  •       Use a tripod if you have one  (really important) And, use a remote, or timer shutter release so you get absolutely no camera movement.
  •       Of course set in Manual mode
  •       Ignore your camera’s light meter
  •           Lunar 11 rule: f/stop 11  match the shutter speed to your ISO setting. You will need a shutter speed of about 1/500 or faster, and set your ISO to the same setting: 500 or higher
All of these are very basic, beginner steps, but I had to re-set my photography mind to digital from the film I used back in the day.  If you have a point and shoot camera, you cannot get the results you'd like.  You can play around with the settings you have, but it won't allow you to do what you really need.  Tip: when buying a camera, make sure that it can be used in a full manual mode.

BTW…if you don’t already, refer to your work as photos or photographs, NOT pictures! You may be an amateur, like me, but you don’t have to totally sound like one!
